Know all men by these presents, that John M Dean Orange Dean Jr & Martin VB Dean of the town of Caledonia County of Livingston & state of New York are held and firmly bound unto Mary L. McArthur of the same place in the sum of four thousand Dollars, to be paid to the said Mary L McArthur or to her certain Attorney, Executors, Administrators of Assigns: for which payment, well and truly to be made we bind ourselves our Heirs, Executors, or Administrators, jointly and severally firmly by these presents.
Sealed with our Seal, and dated the second day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-four
The Nature of this obligation is such, that if the above bounden Obligor their Heirs, Executors or Administrators, shall well and truly pay, or cause to be paid unto the Obligee her certain Attorney, Executors, Administrators, or Assigns the sum of two thousand dollars as follows :Viz” one thousand dollars with the interest on the whole sum to be paid on the first day of November AD 1856 and the remaining one thousand dollars with interest thereon on the first day of November AD 1857 according to the condition of a certain mortgage this day given & executed for the above mentioned two thousand dollars Without fraud or delay, then the preceding obligation to be void; otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
