The object is a clock, but not an ordinary clock. Made of resin and sitting about six inches tall, when sat on the ledge of a table it seems to ‘melt’ over the edge. On the face of the clock, the numbers are painted, but the numbers seem to melt along with the clock, elongating in form towards the bottom. The face is bordered with a gold and a brown edge. The minute and hour hands of the clock are traditional black arrows, but the seconds hand is golden and curves with the shape of the clock.

I got this in February 2022 from an artisanal goods shop in the shopping district of Barcelona. Took a weekend trip to Barcelona during my study abroad semester in Madrid 2022. The significance of the clock is that it is inspired by Salvador Dali’s most famous work, The Persistence of Memory, and Dali is my favorite artist.
