Title
Letter from Kaitlyn
Description
This is a set of three pages of 4.25x6" journal paper teared out of a notebook with a letter written on it in red pen.
This letter was written to me as a parting letter from my best friend in Spain, Kaitlyn. She had left the country once the program ended before the rest of our friend group did (we all stayed to travel more), and the final thing she did before going to the airport, was give each one of us a handwritten letter. It was not only a goodbye letter, but also a letter of her reminiscing on the memories we made together, and why she would miss us. I chose to read the letter shortly after she left, and it had brought me to tears because Kaitlyn was my favorite person that I had met on the trip. Knowing that the chances of seeing her again in the near future were low (she lives in Oregon), made the letter even more emotional for me because she became my close confidant. Getting this physical letter from her was really special because I knew that she had put time into writing it for me, and I wish I could have done the same in return. I did actually respond to the letter, although I had to write my response in an email because I could not get her a physical copy before she left. We do still communicate through Snapchat, text and Marco Polos, but she is usually pretty busy and responds very rarely, which is a bummer because I do miss hearing from her.
