A Krabby Self-Portrait

I am more sitting on top of the car rather than seated next to SpongeBob, leaning to the side to put my arm around him and smile for the camera. It is just myself in the image, and I am wearing my RIT COLA Honors jacket, with a pair of jeans and sneakers, my typical outfit while I was abroad in Spain.

Map of Important Locations I Have Been To
This is an image of a generic Google Map of the world, altered to add pinpoints to locations that I have specified as important to my life. The pinpoints span from the north eastern US to the west coast, Central America, and Europe. The map is centralized around the Atlantic Ocean in order to be able to show all of North America and Europe, and country/state borders remain as they would on any standardized map.

A golden crown with three spikes towards the front and gold or clear jewel-like embellishments covering the band and the spikes.

Hanbok - Clothing
A traditional Korean dress, or a hanbok. The top/jeogori is a cream color with mahogany accents. The accents have embroidered floral details. The jeogori's sleeves are striped with yellow, red, purple, green, and pink accent colors. The tie of the jeogori is the same mahogany color as the accents. The skirt/chima is a bright red color. Both parts of the hanbok are made with a woven textile.

Selfie
This is a selfie I took while I was at work on Sunday the 13th of november. It was taken on my phone with the front facing camera. It wasnt meant to be anything special I took it to show my mom my hair when she was asking for suggestions on how to style her hair in preparation for chemo therapy. I am wearing a long black sleved Wegmans uniofrom shirt along with my gold name tag that reads “ Jill, 1 year and Everyday you get our best” along with the logo in the corner. Attached to the name tag you se part of a red ribbon that states “Happy Holidays”

OTHR Exhibit Poster
A poster for the University Gallery exhibit "OTHR: Design for Another Time". Putting up exhibits has been an essential part of Emma's RIT experience, and this was the first one they ever physically installed.

Pastosa Ravioli Box
A box of raviolis from the local deli Pastosa on Long Island. The box is white with thick blue stripes and Pastosa written in red cursive lettering. Local Italian delis like Pastosa are an essential place for people from Long Island like Emma and their family to get food.

Emma's Vaccination Card
A miniature laminated copy of Emma's COVID-19 vaccination card, with name, birth date, and dates and locations of the Pfizer vaccinations. Getting vaccinated for COVID-19 took away a lot of the fear that had been circulating since the start of the pandemic, and a vaccination card is now essential to daily life in many places.

Emerald Engagement Ring
This object is currently in the possession of the objects' photographer's mother. Originally, this object belonged to a great-grandmother and was passed down to daughters through the matrilineal line. It represents past marriages in a family and communicates an appreciation for familiar heirlooms.
It is an emerald, green square cut gemstone set in a silver band.

Personal Giraffe Memento
This specific figurine is from the Museum of Natural History in New York City. It was purchased on the owners first trip to the city with her roommate from college. It represents the relationships formed after the subsequent purchase of this stone carving.
Overall, the object is made out of readily available jasper or agate and is carved into the shape of a giraffe - albeit a very disproportioned one at that. It stands just under 1 1/2 inches tall and sites atop a square base.

The purpose of using a photograph reflects that this is a real time image that represents the moment the picture was taken. The act of looking into the camera displays that the subject is paying attention to the photograph being taken. The shirt conveys the subject major at Rochester Institiute of Technology. This specific photo was taken in the subjects first apartment during their first semester at college.

Maine Rock
A black rock with white scratches all over. Emma found this rock on a vacation in Maine two Julys ago, and brings back a lot of memories of the trip.

Dad's Sweatshirt
Emma's father's FDNY sweatshirt, given to them when they went to school. It is dark blue with their last name (Nastro) embroidered on the front. There is a black and gold embroidered 9/11 patch with the American flag on one sleeve and an FDNY logo patch on the other sleeve. Emma's father worked in the FDNY for many years and this sweatshirt provides them with a lot of comfort when they miss home.

Letter From Grandma
It is a letter from Emma's Grandma shortly after they arrived at their freshman year of college, written on a green card with white inside and black ink. This letter is very meaningful to Emma since it provided a lot of support to them when they first came to school.
