Map of MoMA
A map of all the floors of MoMA's Manhattan location and their current exhibits as of 11/13/22 by floor, with other amenities of the museum annotated throughout as well. MoMA was the primary source of artistic education of Emma growing up with their family members, and as a result is an essential part of how they see and interact with art today.

7 Stages of Dementia Map
For my map, I decided to construct a non-traditional map. I wanted to demonstrate the stages of the brain while it battles dementia. Dementia is a neurocognitive disease associated with memory loss, loss of motor skills, and many more physiological and sensory symptoms. Currently, there is no known cure. Most of the time, dementia gets clumped into Alzheimer’s disease. Still, they are not necessarily the same thing and there needs to be just as much research going into dementia as Alzheimer's. This subject is extremely important to me as my grandmother lost her battle with dementia in May of 2022 after fighting for almost 7 years. The lack of treatment plans and adequate care-taking training needs to be remedied. Furthermore, the map I created moves from left to right with dementia as the common factor. The map takes you through brain scans done of a brain through each stage of dementia. The 7 stages of dementia include no cognitive decline, age-associated memory impairment, mild cognitive impairment, mild dementia, moderate dementia, moderately severe dementia, and severe dementia. Throughout the patient’s decline, brain tissue shrinks and ultimately reduced the total mass volume of the brain and essential factors for a human to function correctly. Each stage is a landmark in the journey of a dementia patient and it is irreversible. This map is meant to be used to raise awareness of the increasing frequency yet lack of resources to manage dementia.

'Persistence of Memory' Clock
The object is a clock, but not an ordinary clock. Made of resin and sitting about six inches tall, when sat on the ledge of a table it seems to ‘melt’ over the edge. On the face of the clock, the numbers are painted, but the numbers seem to melt along with the clock, elongating in form towards the bottom. The face is bordered with a gold and a brown edge. The minute and hour hands of the clock are traditional black arrows, but the seconds hand is golden and curves with the shape of the clock.

Carved Stone Giraffe Figure
A 2 ½ inch giraffe statue. This carving is made out of assorted stone and has paint for the eyes. He is glued to the square base that he sits on. It is supposed to look like a giraffe but it is very deformed and not very lifelike. It has a fat body and stubby legs. The stone of the giraffe body is composed of a different stone than the square stand the giraffe stands on.

Izzy Moyer Personal Momento:Headband of Van Gogh's painting 'Sunflowers"
This is a thick, cloth headband with Van Gogh's painting "Sunflowers," printed onto it. It has a variety of colors of yellows, greens and browns in it. When scrunched up, you can't see the sunflowers, but when you spread the headband out, you can see the sunflowers and a portion of the actually painting. It is approximatly 24 cm wide and can cover the majority of my head. One side is meant to face the front of my head since that is where the elastic is while the other side is meant to face the back of my head since it has no elastic. It is made out of polyester, created by the Van Gogh museum, and was probably made within the last year.

A Memorable Night in the Stars
This item is a gift that I gave to my significant other on his birthday in April of 2022. It came from an online seller who specializes in creating starry night posters of specific latitudes and longitudes. It is printed on museum-grade paper, framed in a plastic frame, and is able to hang on the wall on metal hooks. There are two sections of text below the image of the night sky. The image itself is of the night sky of the day my boyfriend and I met at Rochester Institute of Technology on August 19, 2020.

Mark Ellingson Standing in Open Field of New Henrietta Campus, June 26, 1965
This architectural rendering of RIT's Henrietta campus, a four-color reproduction printed at RIT School of Printing, was the centerfold of a promotional booklet about the new campus. The new campus was designed to accommodate the growing population of students while planning for future expansions. In setting the tone for what would become an RIT aesthetic, every building is constructed from brick, thereby earning the campus’s moniker as “Brick City.”

This booklet contains a series of speeches and addresses given by notable RIT figures for the Dedication Ceremony of the new Henrietta campus. President Mark Ellingson took the podium as the second to last speech whereupon he apologized for the unfinished campus before turning around to state that his school would never be finished as education expanded and different fields were discovered. He thanked everyone responsible for the contributions to the new campus and asked everyone to look to the future of RIT and where it would be in 100 years. His address reflected pride in this new era for RIT.
